It all began when Michael Gesmond was just eight years old, sitting on his father’s lap in an excavator. Throughout high school, Michael learned the importance of quality and workmanship as he worked with his father on residential pools.

In 2004, Michael moved to Charleston to begin building Heritage Pools while working multiple jobs and replacing vinyl pool liners from the back of a Honda Accord. In 2005, Heritage Pools built their first complete pool. After years of hard work and dedication, Heritage Pools is now recognized on Pool and Spa News’ Top 50 Service and Construction. It’s truly remarkable how Michael’s vision for a better pool service has come to life.

Michael Gesmond moves to Charleston, SC alone to begin building Heritage Pools while working multiple jobs and performing service repairs and replacing vinyl pool liners from the back of a Honda Accord. Started Heritage Pools LLC. with yellow pages ads.

Heritage Pools relocates to a house, using the garage as a warehouse. This year, the company builds its first Heritage I-Beam Pool.

Operations expand, prompting a move to public storage with multiple units.

Heritage Pools purchases its first office and warehouse and installs its first fiberglass pool.

The company adds a maintenance department to provide comprehensive pool care.

Honored with the Best of Houzz Service Award and multiple Angie’s List Awards, including the Super Service Award and the Pool Sales & Construction Award.

Recognized by McEwen Pools as Pool Dealer of the Year for six consecutive years, showcasing our consistent quality and leadership in the pool industry.

This was a pivotal year for us at Heritage Pools. We built our first concrete pool and earned the prestigious Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics, a proud recognition of our commitment to quality and integrity. On the home front, Jessie Gesmond officially joined the team as our Business and Finance Administrator.

Michael is honored as the APSP Young Professional of the Year.

Jessie transitions to full-time, and Lincoln Gesmond is born, marking a new chapter for the family and company. Earned the Latham Builder of Excellence Award for the first time, a recognition of our craftsmanship and commitment to excellence.

Recognized as a Pool & Spa News Top 50 Service Company.

Recognized as a Pool & Spa News Top 50 Builder.

As we celebrated 17 years in the Charleston community, our growth was recognized with a spot as a Pool & Spa News Top 50 Builder. Michael Gesmond also received the Pool Pro Magazine Top 30 Under 40 Award, marking another proud milestone in our journey.

Heritage Pools becomes South Carolina’s first and only Master Certified Building Professional. The company is recognized with its 40th industry award. Won 1st Place in the Latham National Photo Contest, with multiple honors in other years, reflecting the beauty and innovation of our designs. Earned the Latham Builder of Excellence Award for the second time.

Earned the Latham Builder of Excellence Award for the third time. Jessie Gesmond also received the Pool Pro Magazine Top 30 Under 40 Award.

Heritage Pools celebrates 20 years of excellence in pool building and services.
