Design Consultant
Job Overview
The Design Consultant is responsible for engaging clients, crafting designs, and managing the sales process from concept to completion. By combining creativity, technical skill, and excellent communication, you’ll guide homeowners through the journey of transforming their outdoor spaces.
Position Details:
- Location: Charleston, SC
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Reports To: Ownership Team
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Design Creation:
- Communicate with clients via phone and in-home consultations to outline project expectations.
- Gather client preferences and produce 2D and 3D designs that meet their needs.
- Provide detailed project quotes and secure client approval on finalized designs.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to ensure satisfaction throughout the sales and design process.
Sales Process and Coordination:
- Use Salesforce to manage accounts and track progress throughout the sales cycle.
- Close sales opportunities to meet monthly goals for quotes and contracts.
- Complete all necessary contract and pre-construction responsibilities.
- Attend weekly sales meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
Project Oversight and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project coordinators and managers to facilitate efficient and profitable project execution.
- Conduct on-site project layouts with homeowners and attend pre-construction meetings as needed.
- Process AWA (Authorized Work Adjustments) to ensure smooth project transitions.
- Participate in final walkthroughs with clients upon project completion.
Education and Growth:
- Stay current on industry trends and standards by completing Pool Studio courses, including fundamentals, advanced design, and VIP 3D construction.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience and Certification:
- Must achieve CBP (Certified Pool Builder) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Strong understanding of pool design tools, including Pool Studio software, is essential.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency with computers, including design and project management software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
