Maintenance Trainer

Job Overview

The Maintenance Trainer is responsible for training new hires, conducting quality audits, and reinforcing best practices among maintenance staff. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and hands-on technical skills.

Position Details:

  • Location: Charleston, SC
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Reports To: Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

Training & Development

  • Train new Maintenance Technicians using company-approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct follow-up training with current technicians to ensure continued adherence to proper processes.
  • Provide coaching and support in the field to reinforce company-approved cleaning and chemical treatment procedures.

Quality Assurance & Field Supervision

  • Perform route audits to ensure technician performance meets company expectations.
  • Report progress and training outcomes to field supervision and office staff.
  • Assist routes needing additional coverage and support when required.

Ongoing Education & Leadership

  • Continue professional development by enrolling in industry-related training.
  • Stay up-to-date with internal SOPs and cross-departmental procedures affecting maintenance.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in pool maintenance, training, or leadership preferred.

Certifications & Training

  • Orenda Water Chemistry Training (or willingness to complete).
  • Pentair University Training (or willingness to complete).

Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
