Job Overview

The Service Manager is the main point of contact for the service and maintenance departments and a key member of the Leadership Team. This role is responsible for overseeing departmental performance, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and providing operational updates, KPI results, and issue resolutions to the leadership team.

Position Details:

  • Reports To: Leadership Team

Key Responsibilities

Team Management:

  • Supervise employees at the Coordinator, Supervisor, and Technician levels.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and support to ensure team success.

Training and Development:

  • Develop, document, and conduct training programs to enhance technical and customer service skills.
  • Forecast and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly training sessions tailored to team needs.

Recruiting and Onboarding:

  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees for service and maintenance roles.
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement rewards/recognition programs and progressive discipline plans as needed.

KPI Metrics and Performance Management:

  • Manage departmental, team, and individual KPIs to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Use established metrics to guide improvements and track progress.

Process Improvement and New Opportunities:

  • Propose innovative ideas and researched opportunities for service and maintenance enhancements to the Leadership Team.
  • Lead the implementation of approved strategies to improve operations.

Reporting and Auditing:

  • Monitor reporting tools to track outstanding issues, financial performance, and job completion rates.
  • Conduct audits of department performance, including pricing reviews, technician evaluations, and operational needs assessments.

Departmental Oversight:

  • Ensure the quality of work aligns with company standards through picture reviews, pool evaluations, and estimate reviews.

Additional Duties:

  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned to support organizational goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing service operations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, track KPIs, and make informed business decisions.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools, including Orenda App, Pentair University, and NC Start-up Certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
