Water Chemistry

☐ Test water using a reliable test kit or strips
☐ Adjust pH (target range: 7.4–7.6)
☐ Adjust Total Alkalinity (target range: 80–120 ppm)
☐ Adjust Calcium Hardness (target range: 200–400 ppm)
☐ Adjust Chlorine/Sanitizer (target range: 1–3 ppm for chlorine)
☐ Shock the pool (especially after heavy use or rain)

Circulation & Filtration

☐ Run pump daily (8–12 hours depending on system and season)
☐ Check filter pressure and backwash or clean if needed
☐ Inspect pump and filter for leaks or unusual sounds
☐ Empty pump and skimmer baskets

Surface Cleaning

☐ Skim pool surface to remove debris
☐ Brush pool walls, steps, and tile line
☐ Vacuum pool floor manually or check robotic cleaner performance

General Maintenance

☐ Check and secure pool cover (if applicable)
☐ Inspect water level—refill if below skimmer
☐ Confirm heater and automation systems are functioning correctly
☐ Observe water clarity and color—investigate any changes
☐ Log all chemical readings and adjustments
