The Journey So Far

Originally from Iowa, I made my way to Charleston in 2009 and quickly found my footing in the world of design and construction. My career began in the hardscape industry, where I specialized in designing and installing paver patios, driveways, walkways, retaining walls, and custom outdoor kitchens and living spaces. I also worked extensively with artificial turf installations, bringing both form and function to a variety of outdoor environments.

My Passion & Purpose

Swimming pool design brought a fresh and exciting twist to my career. After meeting Michael and being inspired by his passion and vision, I joined the team, eager to master the intricacies of this industry. As a Pisces and someone who grew up on a lake, water has always been a grounding and energizing presence in my life. It’s no surprise I found my calling designing aquatic spaces.

I chose this industry because, as a Pisces, I’ve always been a creature of the water. Growing up on a lake, swimming and all things aquatic were a natural part of life—and water has always been a source of both energy and peace for me. It wasn’t until I entered the world of swimming pool design that I realized just how intricate and rewarding this craft could be. The deeper I dove in, the more fascinated I became with the technical and creative challenges it presents.

Building Connections That Last

For me, the process always begins with connection. I love getting to know clients and their families, understanding what they envision, and collaborating closely to shape those ideas into a design that fits their lifestyle. There’s nothing more rewarding than returning after a project is complete and seeing that transformation—from a simple sketch or digital rendering to a finished pool that brings joy and purpose to their everyday life.

I believe I excel in what I do because of my active listening skills, empathy, and the ability to ask the right questions—ones that uncover the deeper desires and motivations behind a client’s vision. I take pride in creating an open, honest dialogue where homeowners feel heard and understood, ensuring their wants and needs align seamlessly with what we can deliver.

What sets Team Heritage apart is the value we bring through our collective experience. I’m highly detail-oriented and hands-on, having worked in the field myself. I understand the importance of creating thorough, well-communicated plans that can be clearly interpreted and executed by our crews. That level of precision is key to a successful build.

What I Value Most

It’s incredibly rewarding to meet amazing homeowners from all over and help enhance their properties in meaningful ways. I love how every home and environment in Charleston is different—each one brings a new opportunity for creativity.

Design Details That Inspire Me

I’m especially drawn to water features like spillways, descents, scuppers, and water bowls. There’s a special kind of energy in flowing water—it brings movement, sound, and a calming presence to any outdoor space.

A Glimpse Into Who I Am

Outside of work, I enjoy all things outdoors—kayaking on the Ashley River near our home, surfing at Isle of Palms, cycling, and exploring Charleston’s many parks with my kids. My family and I are always on the hunt for new places to eat in Charleston’s incredible food scene, and we love catching live shows when they come through town. I’ve visited 49 states so far—Alaska is the last on my list, and it’s officially on the calendar! If you’ve recently relocated to the Lowcountry, chances are I’ve spent time in your home state—and I’d love to connect.
