1992
A Young Dreamer
At just eight years old, Michael Gesmond discovers his passion for pools while sitting on his father’s lap in an excavator. This moment sparks a lifelong connection to construction and craftsmanship.
1999
LeaRNing the trade
Throughout high school, Michael works with his father on residential pools, replacing liners and gaining firsthand experience in quality workmanship and dedication to excellence.
2004
Heritage Pools is Born
Michael moves to Charleston, SC, to start Heritage Pools. Juggling multiple jobs, he begins by performing service repairs and replacing vinyl liners from the back of a Honda Accord. Heritage Pools’ first advertisements appear in the Yellow Pages.
2005
Building a Foundation
Moved Operations to Home: Operating from his very own apartment, Michael’s home becomes the first Heritage Pools “warehouse”.
2006
Expansion Begins
Heritage Pools moves to public storage, utilizing multiple units to meet increasing demand and set the stage for future growth.
2011
A Permanent Home
Heritage Pools purchases its first office and warehouse, establishing a dedicated space for operations and growth.

Diversifying Pool Offerings
The first fiberglass pool is installed, expanding Heritage Pools’ ability to meet a variety of customer preferences and needs.
2012
Maintenance Services Launched
The maintenance department is introduced, providing clients with comprehensive care for their pools and ensuring long-term satisfaction.

First Heritage
I-Beam™ Pool Built
A significant milestone that marks the start of building custom pools.

- Jessie Gesmond Joins the Team: Jessie officially joins Heritage Pools part time as Office Manager.

Michael is named APSP Young Professional of the Year, celebrating his leadership and contributions to the pool industry.

- Lincoln is Born: A special milestone for Michael and Jessie, welcoming their son into the world.
- Jessie Goes Full-Time: Jessie takes on a full-time Office Manager role, further strengthening the company’s foundation.
